Welcome.

Sundara सुन्दर is a Sanskrit word which means of beautiful and noble essence.
Our vision is to honor and hold this word close to our hearts with humility and grace as we share in yoga as a community.

Donation based yoga in Thornton, Colorado

We are Angie & Russ, a couple of Thornton-based yogis that lead a sunrise morning practice at Harley Brown Amphitheater, Carpenter Park during the warmer months at 6:30 am as weather allows.

We look forward to seeing you outside at the park next spring. In the meantime, we offer private yoga sessions at our home-based studio.

  • Asana

We draw upon Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga systems to inform our asana practice. All levels are welcome.

  • Breathwork

Pranayama is an integral part of the holistic yoga system, and we incorporate methods into our practice as appropriate.

  • Meditation

Our efforts in self reflection and integrating through yoga may include guided meditation. No experience required.

No matter where you are on your yoga journey, join us outside next spring at Carpenter Park for community, peace & yoga.

In the meantime, reach out for private yoga sessions at our home studio. Practice in a comfortable setting surrounded by lush, calming plant life. Angie offers restorative yoga sessions for individuals and couples.

Our yoga practice is led with deep reverence for classical yogic theory and tradition. We are humbled to share what we have learned as yoga teachers from training with the skilled teachers of Denver Yoga Underground and the Samadhi Center.

The asana is designed to arrive in the present moment, while drawing upon cues from Ayurveda, and may have interludes of pranayama and meditation. Foundations for our approach to asana sequencing and design are drawn from Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga systems.
